I am a Prescott native and devoted dog lover! I spend most of my time reading, catching up on my favorite movies and TV shows, and geeking-out at sci-fi conventions. I graduated summa cum laude from Northern Arizona University (Go Lumberjacks!) in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education and an emphasis on biology. I moved to the valley shortly thereafter and have taught third grade at Highland Lakes for eight years and second grade for one. I am SEI endorsed and am currently pursuing my endorsement in Gifted Education, as well as Early Childhood Education. I have enjoyed organizing our annual Highland Lakes Science Fair and am always eager to encourage a love of science at the elementary level. During my time in third grade I had many amazing experiences and forged many wonderful friendships with students, parents, and peers.
About Ms. Nick (for kids)
I have two dogs. They are chihuahuas. They are both boys named Merry and Pippin. Merry sounds like a girl's name. He and his brother were named after the hobbits from The Lord of the Rings. Merry is brown and Pippin is white. They are waiting for me to come home from school!
My favorite color is green. It is the same color as grass.
My favorite animal is the frog. They can also be green, but some are other colors!
My favorite hobby is reading. I like to count how many books I've read. Do you?
My favorite food is french fries. I like the skinny ones from Freddy's.
My favorite (kid) movie is called Harry Potter. I wish I could fly a broom!
My favorite (kid) TV show is Spongebob Squarepants. I like Sandy Cheeks. She is a girl scientist, just like me!
My favorite (grownup) TV show is Doctor Who. It is about a man who travels in space using a phone booth!
